Cruzeiro Esporte Clube, or just Cruzeiro, is one of the most successful Brazilian professional football clubs. It is based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The club was founded on January 2, 1921, by sportsmen from the Italian colony of Belo Horizonte as Società Sportiva Palestra Itália.
